Proverbs 16:20
"He who heeds the word wisely will find good, And whoever trusts in the Lord, happy is he."

Well as most of you already know, we made it safely through and back from our vacation (You can read and see more about it at vacation.therudys.com or twitter.com/rudyvacation). It was a jam-packed, fun-filled adventure from day 1 to day 14, topped off by 3 full days in LA with 3/4s of the AZ Rudys (We missed you Aubrey!). It is always great to get away and it is even more special when you can spend it with the people you love the most. I love you family!
Well coming off a very happy time for all of us, I thought this verse from Proverbs was quite appropriate. Even though we experience a lot of happiness and joy seeing many amazing things here on earth, there are some days for all of us that we would not describe as "happy days".
God does not promise us smooth sailing through this life here on earth. Even in the Bible, He gives us examples of great people of faith who also had some very rough roads to travel. He tells us over and over again in his word that we will experience trials and tough days (or weeks or years).
But most importantly, he also spells out over and over again (and this Proverb is a good example), that we can only find happiness in him. He say that if we put our trust in Jesus, drown ourselves in his word, and follow his statutes, that we are guaranteed of experiencing true joy! I know I for one need to be constantly reminded of where I can find true joy. I pray that you and I both will heed this call to spend some more time with Jesus and his word *THIS* week. Love you all!
...and don't forget to love God with all your heart, love others as He does, and use every minute for His will and to His glory!
