Proverbs 6:16-19
"These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren."

Our God is a loving God but Proverbs shows that He also has the capacity to hate. Besides Satan and sin in general, here are some things that God truly hates and even detests:
- A prideful spirit
- A lying tongue
- Those who hurt the innocent
- A corrupt heart that plans ill will against others
- Those who run toward sin
- Someone who falsely testifies against his neighbor
- A person who stirs up trouble among the believing community
So in turn if we are looking to follow God, I think the following would make God quite pleased:
- Projecting a humble spirit
- Displaying integrity and absolute truthfulness
- Protecting the weak and innocent
- Looking for ways to plan good for others
- Fleeing from sin
- Standing as a witness for your neighbor
- Building up and edifying the community of believers
Of course we will sin every day and always be tempted by the things on the first list, but let's pray that through God's strength we will spend much more time carrying out the actions on the second.
...and don't forget to love God with all your heart, love others as He does, and use every minute for His will and to His glory!
