Is Jesus Safe? - Matthew 21:12, 13

Matthew 21:12, 13
"Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out all the people buying and selling animals for sacrifice. He knocked over the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves. He said to them, "The Scriptures declare, 'My Temple will be called a house of prayer,' but you have turned it into a den of thieves!""

A den of thieves!  Them was some fightin' words from our Lord.

Whenever I hear Jesus put into that finite box of adjectives such as loving, kind, gentle and compassionate, I think of this verse. Yes, Jesus is all of these things but he is also bold, passionate, unbending in principles, and yes sometimes a little threatening and scary.

We should have that same passion when we see something happening in the church or in a fellow believer's life that we know needs to be addressed.  Sometimes I think we are too nice and safe with others and that might not be what Jesus is calling us to be in that situation (see the song below and listen to the lyrics describing "Aslan" from Chronicles of Narnia as "not safe").

I challenge us all to be bold, take a stand, confront the issue or person, but ensure you do it wrapped in the truth of scripture and with love, gentleness and respect.

...and don't forget to love God with all your heart, love others as He does, and use every minute for His will and to His glory!

A very nice cover I thought at least Hannah might enjoy.  :)
