Temptation - I Corinthians 10:13

I Corinthians 10:13
"No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."

In this life, we will be tempted by many things of this world, but God has promised us that He will never give us more than we can handle.  And more specifically, He has also promised that he will always provide a way out of the temptation.  I am sure many of you know this verse very well, but sometimes I think we may not always look hard enough for that "out".

In the book of James (Chapter 1, v13-1), James says that God does not tempt anyone but we are tempted and drawn away and enticed by our own evil desires.  So if we let our sinful, human nature have free reign over us, then we will miss that escape route that God has prepared.

The next time you feel surrounded and consumed by temptation and bad choices, seek God's direction through prayer and meditation. As He promised in His word, God will reveal for you that next step to take and then guide you through the seeming darkness to find that illusive escape.

...and don't forget to love God with all your heart, love others as He does, and use every minute for His will and to His glory!

Family Update:
Well Kay and I had another 2+ hour consultation with a doctor yesterday. This was our first time to visit a medical oncologist and of course he had his own set of opinions on everything. Kay and I are pretty sick of hearing more doctor opinions and we just need to trust our judgment and trust that God will see us through this. We will probably follow the doctor's recommendation to see a genetic counselor, but we are pressing ahead with the surgery on April 10th. As always, we appreciate the continued prayers!
